(Herald Correspondent. ) During October the rainfall registered at the 'Fatutahi weather station was .46in., compared with 1.12iu. for the same period last year. .Rain fell on eight days, the maximum fall being .23in. At the recent flower show in connection with the Fatutahi branch of the Women's Institute, Mrs. L. Evans' special prize for woodwork was won by •Master Eric Sait. A meeting of the committee of the Fatutahi Tennis Club was held last evening. Present: Mr. J. 11. Monteith, chairman, Mesdames Monteith and Thodey; Messrs. L. East and Williams. A circular was received from the Poverty Bay and East Coast Lawn Tennis Association requesting all affiliated clubs to refrain from playing matches with unaffiliated clubs. It was decided lo accept a challenge from To Hapara club, the secretary being left to arrange a. suitable date for the match on the Fatutahi courts. The secretary reported that the new rules for the club were being drawn up. 'The following players were selected to play a match against Mangapapa club at the latter’s courts to-morrow: Mrs. 1).
