DECISION FINAL
CLOSING TRAINING COLLEGES (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Although there undoubtedly were many present who hoped that the last word had not been said in •regard to the closing down, of the Wellington Teachers’ Training College, remarks by the Education Minister at a ceremony at the college to-day made it plain that the Government’s decision was final. The Hon. R. Masters emphasised that, the country’s financial position made it imperative to close the colleges in Wellington and Dunedin. The Minister reiterated his opinion that two colleges were enough, and probably, but that there were two islands, one would be sufficient.
