KEEN INTEREST
MOTUEKA EY-ELECTION HEAVY POLL EXPECTED (Per Press Association.) NELSON, this day. There is fine weather for the Motueka by-election. Groat interest is evinced, and heavy polling is anticipated. Most of the visiting Parliamentarians returned to 'Wellington last evening. Five progress return? and the final result of the polling will be sent by the Telegraph Department to-night to the. Chief Postmaster in each district for distribution throughout the Dominion. The three candidates for the Motueka scat are: — 11. J. Holvoake, Coalition; R. McKenzie, Liberal-Labor; P. C. Webb, Labor. Tho Hon. Mr. McKenzie, a one-time Liberal Minister, formerly represented Motueka in Parliament, and Mr. Webb sat in the House for the Grey electorate, being one of the pioneers of the Labor Party.
