NATIVE LANDS BILL
appointment of advisees
(Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Native Affairs Committee of the House has ineerted a new clause in the Native Lands Amendment Bill giving the settlement board established in the bill power to utilise the services of any person not being a member of the Puclic Service to give advice and instruction to natives while engaged in the development of any land. The advisor may make recommendations ■to the settlement board for more efficient and economical development and itettlemont ,of land. Other amendments made by the committee are of a purely verbal nature.
