MAORI CENTENARIAN
DEATH NEAR .COROMANDEL An aged Maori, Paoro Wirihana, known as Paul Wilson, died a few days ago at the Manuia settlement, eight miles from Coromandel. Wirihana had resided at Manaia all his life and had a wonderful store of knowledge regarding the early happenings in connection with mining and other industries. Wirihana is said to have been born in the early part of last century. _ He was a splendid typo of Maori, upright and honest, with the old simple sense of honor typical of the early Maori. He did not belong to the local tribes, but to the Taurnnga Maoris.
