The Hawke's Bay touring cricket team redeemed their reputation to-day in a match against Wellington, by running up 297 for five wickets in * the second innings, and then applying) the closure. F; Fmlayson, the captain, who comes from Adelaide, where he was coached by “Patsy!”.Hendren, scored 113. He was at the. wickets for about three, hours, and hit 13 , fours. Mat O’Brien scored an even century in 145 minutes, hitting one six and 12 fours. Browne (29), and Mahoney (25), also baited soundly. The Wellington- bowling camo in for punishment. .- Wellington in their second innings scored 49 for one .wicket, spid tho match was drawn.. • Hie Hawke’s Bay team left for the south to-night. They will play Otago in Dunedin on Friday and Saturday. V '
