more bills introduced HOSPITALS BILL DELAYED ( Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Three more Government bills made their appearance in the House vosteiday. These were the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Bill, the Local Legislation Bill, two washing-up measures, and the Fire Brigades Amendment Bill, providing, m the main, foi the creation of a metropolitan fire district in Auckland. Further amendments to the Mortgagors and Tenants Further Relief Bill were introduced, and notice was also given of two other Government bills, the Local Government Officers B 1 and the Cook Islands Amendment Bill. The Mortgagors Bill was passed, as amended, and in the afternoon the House turned its attention to the annual report of the Government Railways Board, Labor members criticising. the administrative work of the board. r Jherc were also some frank expressions of opinion regarding the tactics of those members participating in the Motueka by-election. In the evening, the House quickly put the Mortgagors and Tenants Further Relief Bill through, but a halt was called when the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Amendment Bill was reach, eel. Members on both sides of the House raised strong objections to tho clause providing machinery for a reduction in the number of hospital districts, and after the clause had been debated for over two hours it was retained by 28 votes to 20. five Government members joining with the Labor Party in the division. The clause providing for the closing of certain institutions, or the restriction of relief granted by them, proved another stumbling block, and was still under fire at the midnight adjournment
