A fanner writes to a local paper and states he was offered a premium of OEO to take a farm to prevent it from becoming derelict and dare not accept the offer. As an indication of the way things are going, there have been over SCO farm sales in the county this Michaelmas, many of them for trustees of farmers who had got to their furthest.’’
