CYCLIST INJURED
BRAKES TAIL TO ACT (Per Press Association.) NAPIER, this day. The failure of the brake of a bicycle to respond when cycling down Goldsmith road. Napier, yesterday afternoon, resulted in Harold Ruegg, 30, a married man, residing in William street, Takapuna, second engineer of the Poolta, sustaining severe concussion. Ruegg was taken to hospital, and was reported last night to be improving. He was cycling down the slope when the brake failed, and the machine gathered way until it skidded in avoiding a “road closed” sign.
