Th© works of tho Auckland Fanners’ Preening Company, at Mocrowa, Wliarigarei, recommenced work officially on Monday, and everything is now running smoothly. A considerable number of last yew’s skilled butchers were engaged, and in other departments practically all tho workers are last year’s employees. An interesting ceremony will take placo in Nelson on Saturday next, when tho new cathedral will bo dedicated by the Priinato of New Zealand, Archbishop Averill. The building, which is a little more than a fourth part completed, is situated on one of the most perfect sites in the world, on Church Hill, where, until three months ago, tho old cathedral stood. The style of tho architecture is that of tho first period of early English Gothic.
