It was discovered during the hearing of a case in the Dunedin 'Supreme Court that a necessary witness was at Tarras, in Central Otago, 175 miles from Dunedin. In former times, a, difficulty of this kind might have meant an adjournment of the case, but not so today. An aeroplane was requisitioned without loss of time and the witness arrived in the city early in the afternoon.
