A contractor' called at a Hamilton auctioneer’;; office and stated that ho had two daught horses outside to be entered for sale at tlio horse sale at Chuulefands. The man, wlio lived in the IJrowero Country, about 140 miles away, left bis home with the two liorses and a dray, and travelling by relaying the liorses, reached Hamilton after a four days’ journey.
Tliis afternoon tlio Hawke’s Hay Aero Club’s Hpartun plane left for the Hastings aerodrome, where it will have a new cowling fitted before returning. The plane was piloted by Mr. Percy Allen, of the mechanical staff of Messrs. Alien Bros., and ,Johnstone, and tlio pilot had with him as a passenger his father, Mr. P. ,1. Allen. Mr. Percy Allen is tlio first locally trained pilot to receive his certificate to carry pas-
sengers and it is interesting t,o record that his father is at onto making use, of his son’s ability as a pilot to travel on business.
