It is made of tilie latest type of stainless steel, and it is claimed to be the first, of its kind in the Poverty Bay or . Hawke’s Bay district's. | One of the advantages of the new i vat is that it will retain its surface, and in this respect, it is distinctly ; superior to the tinned copper vats, which require returning periodically. It | is also claimed to be a step further I than glass lineal vat's, ■ The v.at, which has a capacity ol' about S 0() gallons, was received from I the makers at Palmenston Worth IQ I days agq, and was used last week for I, the first lime. The installation 'was made necessary by the, ipcrqasmg supplies of cream. The seasonal increase | lqis not- been' checked yet by the. dry 'weather, but the holding capacity is now sufficient to see thq factory through the flush period.
