IRISH GOVERNOR-GENERAL

The name of .Mr Buckley, the new Free State Governor, was an announced .in Dublin in Irish as Donal Na Bauidialla. The announcement in London gave the English version. Donal Buck lev.
The new Governor kept three establishments, a. grocery shop, a -bicycle ctore, ami an inn. He is 55 years of age and was educated at a Jesuit school in Dublin. He vs known as a “Diehard Irish’ ’ speaker, ahvßys using Irish in preference, to English. He is a close friend of Mr Do Valera, and also a friend of I’altrick Pearce, the leader of the rebellion in H)HS, whose school his son attended. .Mr Buckley to-day took the oath of allegiance to the King, the Ohief Justice administering the oath. His commission, signed by His Majesty,- was unprecedentedly sent Ito the Free State by post. lie has not decided whether he will occupy the viceregal lodge. Ho will receive a salary of £IO,OOO a year.
