OBITUARY
RT. REV. H. MONTGOMERY LONDON, Nov. 27.^ The death is announced of the lit. Rev. Henry Montgomery, formerly Bishop of Tasmania. He collapsed on a sick bed. at his residence in Donegal a few minutes after completing the reading ol the induction service, contemporaneously with the induction of Ins son as vicar of St, John’s, Wallasey. Bom in 1817, the late Dr. Montgomery was educated at Harrow and Cambridge, graduating M.A., D.D., D.C.L. lie was ordained in 1871, and m 1889 became Bishop of Tasmania. In 1901 lie returned to England as prebendaisy of Wenloelisbarn in St. Paul’s Cathedral. Itn 192 P he pvas created a Iv.C.M.G. He was the author of a number of publications, including “Life’s Journey," “Musings,” “Visions,” in three volumes, and the lives of several bishops.
MISS A. TOLERTON
Sincere sympathy will bo felt for Mr. F. Tolorton in the death of an elder sister, Miss Agnes Tolcrtot which occurred yesterday morning in Morrinsville, where she and nnothoi sister conducted the Lynton Private Hospital. Miss Tolorton, who was the oldest of a family of nine, underwent a serious operation a few years ago, and had been an invalid for some time prior to her death.
An old resident of Puketapu, Hawke’s Bay, Mr. George Smale, died recently. The day before his death ho put up the highest tally in the shearing shed, shearing 207 sheep.
Mr. Jaboz Lyons, who died in Invercargill recently, at the ago of 90, worked for some time in Canterbury as a bridge-builder for the Now Zealand Railways.
