Moses, for the defence, was increased to £5 Is in view of the possibility or ~ an appeal, in default 14 days’ imN prisonment. The men were allowed a Z week to pay. The defence was a denial of the 7 truth of the evidence given by wit- * nesses for the prosecution, but the ” magistrate said he did not believe the . story told by the defence. It was graining his credulity too much.
