BISHOP OF MELANESIA
CONSECRATION SERVICE
For the first time in 20 years, a bishop will be consecrated in Auckland on Wednesday, when the 15isliop-eleet of Melanesia, the Rev. IV. J 3. Baddeley, formerly vicar of Soulhhank, ) or); si lire, will be installed as .Bishop of Melanesia. The bishop-elect will reach Auckland by the Aorangi to-day, and the consecration service will take place in hit. Mary’s Cathedral on Wednesday morning, The consecration will he performed by Archbishop Avcrili, who will be attended by all the archdeacons in the Auckland diocese, while Bishop West-'Watson, of Christchurch, Bishop Williams, of Waiapu, and Bishop Cherringtou, of Waikato, will he present-. The service will he attended by a large number of the clergy in Auckland, and by Bishop Anderson, formerly of B.ivcrina. New South Wales. The sermon is to bo ’delivered by the Rev. T. 0. Collwick, who was formerly associated with the Melanesian Mission, having acted as arch -deacon in the Islands.
