WON’T DRINK TILL LEGAL
'CHICAGO, Nov. in. 'Believing that the sale of beer will l)e legal within 00 days, the Mayor, Mr Anton Corniak, has signed a pledge not to touch liquor until he can buy beer at fi cents (normally 2kl) a glass. “Restaurants, drug stores and grocers’ shops will handle most of Chicago’s liquor,” Mr Corniak said. “'The hoodlums who sell it now will bp unable to make a living.” Five cent beer would cost retailers 20 dollars a barrel.
