MANY ESCAPE
QUEER TRAIN ACCIDENT
MELBOURNE, Nov. 7. A mysterious train accident occurred at Pyramid Hill this afternoon. When a mixed passenger and goods train from Bendigo was in the centre of the town, residents heard a loud crash and saw the middle of the train rear up and collapse. An ice truck was telescoped and another derailed.
It is thought the train struck an obtaele, but it is possible that an explosion occurred. None of the 100 passengers was hurt, but some w#re severely shaken. A sorious accident was avoided by the prompt stopping of the train.
