SHEARING PLANT
£ DISABLED BY LIGHTNING

•Shearers had a remarkable escape from serious injury when a complete shearing plant was put out of action as the-.result of a severe lightning flash. It will 'be some time before repairs to ,tho plant can bo effected. The accident occurred on the Hanover Dundee property of Mr August Kiehne. ~ Messrs, Harold, Sidney, and Leonard Kiehne were working three stands when lightning struck the plant, twisting a thick piston rod like a piece of scrap iron. Pieces of steel from the engine were hurled through the air, narrowly missing. Mr Harold Kiehne's head, and embedding themselves in the wall. -The three men were 'probably saved by the belt connecting the plant.
