A GOOD use for your old rubber heels is to screw or nail them ie the legs of tables that are uneven, or that rest on Uneven ground. Cream Substitute. A mashed banana, mixed with the white of an egg and beaten till stiff, is an excellent substitute for whipped cream. Whisked Eggs. Add a drop of cold writer to the white of an egg before whisking, and it will froth in half the time and be stiffer. A Good Color. When boiling salt beef put a piece of common soda the size of a pea into the water. It will give a beautiful “pinky” color to the meat. Smart Front Doors.
For a door that gets lots of sun an application of olive oil about once a week will prevent blisters on the paint, and will give it. a much improved appearance.
