MESSAGE TO THE EMPIRE
BROADCAST BY KING .CHRISTMAS DAY PROPOSAL (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received Nov. 25, 2 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 24. The King will broadcast a Christmas message to the Empire on Christinas Day. The message is to be transmitted from the new Empire station. This will be His Majesty’s first direct broadcast to his people. Hitherto only speeches at official functions have been wirelessed. The King probably will broadcast from his study at Sandringham, where Their Majesties will spend Christmas. A special microphone is 'being installed.
