The King has sent a letter to the chairman of the Mount liiverest Committee expressing his interest in the new expedition and enclosing a cheque tor £IOO towards the expenses'. Orders for over £J ,000,000 worth of goods were given at the British exhibition at Copenhagen. The attendance was well over 300,000, or nearly double the number expected.
