SATURDAY ’ S EFFORT On Saturday next the D.M.C.A. is launching its carnival appeal, and despite (ho adverse conditions if each one approached does what he or she can for Ibis worthy cause success will crown the effort. Every penny subscribed is spent on entering for the welfare of youth. The whole of Gisborne and its environs lias been blocked out. Ihe business area will be canvassed by the members of the Rotary Flub and the association’s directors, who will receivi cheques and sell badges of divers values. Street sales also will he made by the ladies, and a liousc-tn house canvass will be carried into effect by the Hoy Scouts and girls. The latter will sell “bricks ’ represented by tickets ot Is each. The ladies’ auxiliary will dispense refreshments at the y.M.C.A. buffet) for all workers during the day.
