DEPARTURES Thursday, November 24 Koutunui, m.v , 11.20 a.m., 171 tons. G. A. Nairn, for Tokomum Bay and Napier. The Wairnea arrived from Auckland this morning and upon completion of discharge sailed for Napier. Loading for Napier and Gisborne, the Poolta left Timaru at 10.30 p.m. yesterday, and is expected to leave Lyttelton to-day for Wellington. She is due at Gisborne about Wednesday next and 011 completion of discharge and loading will return to Wellington, en route to southern ports to load again iov Naider ami Gisborne.

The Pukeko arrived this morning from Auckland, Ilieks Bay, Tokomaru Bay and Tolaga Bay, and is to sail this afternoon for Napier. The Awaliou is due here in the morning from Wellington aud Napier, and will sail later for Wellington. The Koutunui arrived this morning from Lyttelton, via Waikokopu, and sailed later for Tokomaru Bay. On completion of discharge at the Coast port she will proceed to Napier. The Margaret W arrived this morning from Auckland. Tokomaru Bay and Tolaga Bay, and is to sail to-night for Tokomaru Bay, Hicks Bay and Auckland. 1

The Tivoa will sail to-night for Napier, arriving back here on Saturday morning and sailing that night lor Tokoinaii! Bav and Auckland. The auxiliary scow Alwvn G is to remain here, until the end of the week. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor ship Port Dunedin, at present in the roadstead loading for Lon don. is expected to sail to-night for Auckland.

The dredge Paritutu was to sail from Now Plymouth for Wellington on Tuesday, where a thorough examination of her hull will be made, preparatory to the calling of tenders for her overhaul. The Paritutu has been out of commission for about a year and a half.

THE WEATHER (Last Night’s Forecast) The recent anticyclone is passing away eastwards, and an intense westerly depression is advancing on to the Dominion, barometers having fallen considerably in the far south. Winds: Strong northerly to westerly of gale force in many places, hacking to southerly to-morrow in the. far south. Seas: Rough south of Cape Egmont and offshore south of Castlepoint, elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong north to west winds to gales, backing later to south-west; seas moderate in flic northern portion, but rising and rough to heavy in the southern portion. Weather: Unsettled and squally, rain in districts with a westerly aspect, with some heavy falls. Mainly dry and warm at first in eastern districts, bet showers and much lower temperatures accompanying a general southerly change due after from 24 to 36 hours. (To-day’s North Island Report) Blue skies wore reported at Wellington this morning, but overcast conditions prevailed elsewhere in the Norlu Island, with light rain in places. Moderate to fresh northerly breezes were general. The barometer had fallen sharply since yesterday. Ternperatures at i) oVlock wore: Auckl&hm and Wellington 63 degrees, Tauninga and 'Gisborne 68, Opotiki and Napier 7(1, and East Cape 63. Rough seas were reported around Cook Strait; elsewhere moderate or smooth. (Midday Forecast) The indications are for westerly winds strong to gale, and hacking by west to south after about 24 hours. Expect warm and sultry weather, but later becoming colder with some showeis. Barometer unsteady but later rising. Sens and tides moderate.
