Judgment was reserved by Mr P. H. Harper, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court to-day in a civil claim for £36 13s 4d, brought by Carried?, Wcdderspoon and Company, Limited, against C. T. C. Hands and Arthur Owen, juu., trading as G. T. C. Hands and Company. Mr J. G. Nolan appeared for the plaintiffs, Mr W. Kohn for the defendant Hands, and Mr H. V. Beaufoy for the defendant Owen. It was (Stated on behalf of the plaintiff that Hands admitted the claim, and the only point in dispute was as to whether a partnership existed between 'Hands and Owen, making the latter liable jointly with Hands in the debt. Formerly Hands had been operating a radio agency under his own name, and received financial help from A. Owed, sen., whose son was later admitted to a partnership in the 'business. Evidence to this effect was given by the defendant Hands ami other witnesses, and the defendant Qvven deposed that he had not been a partner at any time. Mr Beaufoy objected to the admission of certain evidence called, but the objection was overruled, and His Worship intimated that he would take time to consider the case.
