MORE EMPLOYMENT
INCREASE OF FACTORY WORKERS SYDNEY. Nov. 17. Air F. Howell, of the Chamber of -Manufacturers, in an address to the Association of Victorians last night, said Hint (here had been a definite increase in employment. Figures gathered from 140 floe lories in New South Wales showed thill 5000 hands had boon taken on since August, 11)30, and it was evident that over the whole country considerable employment had been provided. I n New South Wales, 83 factories reported additions and extensions to plant at a substantial cost. Upon the manner in Avliich the Ottawa agreement was administered depended the maintenance of this employment, and tJili safety of the investments in plant.
