Mr F. W. Furkcrt, who lately retired from the poet of ongineer-iu-iehicf to tlie Public Works Department, passed through Gisborne yesterday on route to tlie East Coast, in the course .of a holiday trip. Mr. Adler spoke in support, seconding the previous speaker’s motion that the matter lie referred to the Minister of. Public Works. It was decided to forward letters to the Opotiki, Gisborne, and Rotorua Chambers of Commerce asking for the support of these bodies in representations to the Minister.
