Garter, who captained the team, said the New Zealanders shot very well considering (hat they did not, have any real, practice, there being no shooting in New Zealand from tlie end of .March to the end of October. The ammunition also was a factor, as they bad to use mark VI instead of mark AM! to which they wore usd in New Zealand, and which required less windage. The standard of shooting in Australia was .very high. The Defence Department; there made all facilities available and assisted to a greater extent than was the case in New Zealand. The Sydney meeting was the finest south of the line, and the visitors were shown every hospitality. Tiie sportsmanship generally was outstanding.
