RAIN IN THE SOUTH
RANGIORA RACES OFF (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Owing to heavy rain, Rangiora races have been postponed indefinitely. Most sports fixtures are off also. RACING AT TRENTHAM (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Heavy rain fell during the night, and it is still raining more or less, with a leaden sky at 11 o’clock this morning. The Wellington Racing Club’s meeting at Trentham will, however, be continued. The Labor Day sports are off, and also old boys’ .lay at Wellington College, and necessarily all bowling, tennis, and other sports that people have been looking forward to. AUCKLAND TROTS POSTPONED (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. 'The second day of the Auckland trots has been postponed till later in the week owing to heavy rain last night and this morning, 'The weather appears likely to remain showery, niul it is improbable that any sports fixtures can he held.
