FARMER SHOT DEAD
CHARGE AGAINST NEIGHBOR BRISBANE, Oct. 14. A shooting tragedy occurred on a farm at Fisherman’s Pocket, about live miles from Gvmpie, this evening, when Alfred Alan Smith, dairy farmer, was killed. It is alleged that a neighboring dairy farmer visited Smith, and that words ensued. A rifle was discharged, the build killing Smith instantly. The tragedy, it is stated, was witnessed by the wives of both farmers, who were returned soldiers, Later, a farmer named Charles Keith, was arrested on a charge of wilful murder.
