STERILISATION OPPOSED SYDNEY, Oct. 10. “\Ve have to learn a great deal more about human heredity before we are justified in doing anything in the nature ol sterilisation,” declared Professor Dawsou, in a Health Week address at the Cnivorsity L niou to-day. lie said that some of the American States had passed legislation regarding sterilisation, but very few. medical men would venture to suggest it. Discussing mental hygiene. Prof. Dawson said that nervous troubles had a tremendous effect on happiness and health in everyday duties. A medical check in England showed that 50 per cent, of the illness in one largo factory was due to mental disorder iff one type or another. Many complaints that had a physical appearance were merely the expression -i an emotional state, thus illustrating the importance of investigating emotional conditions.
