AUSTRALIA’S SHARE REORGANISATION SCHEME LONDON, Oct. 6. Increased Australian responsibility for tho protection of Empire interests in the l’aciric is implied m modifications of the principles of Empire defence now being discussed in British circles. The suggested changes would involve the technical improvement of the Commonwealth’s air, land and sea forces. Special memoranda on the subject are being prepared by the Imperial General Staff, and these will shortly be submitted to the Australian naval, army and air boards for their consideration and views. The preparation of tho memoranda is the outcome of informal talks between British and Dominion Ministers, while they were assembled in Ottawa. British experts consider it desirable that the Commonwealth should re-estab-lish its own direct technical representation in London, which Mr. Scullin abolished when he was Prime Minister.-. 1 lie retirement in November of Mr. T.
