NATIVE GIRL’S AWFUL END SUVA, June 19. A report from the town of Xabuberu in the Yasawa Islands, states tftAt a'native’girl has Veen oaten by sharks. Esita ceqght hold of Ascno, and swam ■Tfith ho? towards the shore, while the sWfeci fallowed, Still attacking the Wounded girl. lEsita' managed to tow Asena into shallow water, and then the sharks dragged her away. Asm, was terribly mutilated and almost 'dead, and Esita ran tip the shore screaming for help. The whole village turned out, but arrived to find’ only the girl 's head apd some fibres. Mr. Hicks, in' a launch; firgught the remains ashore. The sharks are described as of a 9ijjajl, yieipus and daring species.
