Death in a lonely house on the shores of Lake Roto Ehu overtook Muriel Ida Angell, a married woman, sometimo between 8.30 a.m. on Saturday and 5.30 p.m. last evening. Her little daughter, aged 2J, years, was found asleep beside her when her husband made the'tragic discovery on Wednesday evening. The child is well, but evidently had been crying, and had not been able to obtain food. She was too young to bo able to tell the sud tale of the lonely death which had overtaken her unfortunate mother. When discovered by her husband, Mrs. Angell was lying upon a bed fully dressed. The boay disclosed no signs ot violence. The husband had left home at 8.33 o’clock on Saturday morning, and did not return until after dark on Wednesday. The house is situated in a very lonely spot on the shores of Lake Roto Ehu, the nearest neighbor being three miles away, which probably accounts for tho death remaining undiscovered. The police are investigating.
