GERMANY SECURES ORDER BRAZIL’S HUGE DEBT TO SOUTH WALES LONDON. March 2& Germany , has secured an order .for the supply of 75,000 tons of ooai to the Brazilian Central Railway by accepting thousands of tons of coffee in. paymentThus South Wales has lost,an important contract.

The difficulty in securing payment caused a natural diffidence in tendering for tho contract which Germany secured.

Both the Board of Trad© and Foreign Office have been informed of the facts as to the money overdue from Bra2il, and of the arrangement by which the Brazilian Government will collect the money from Germany and distribute it to the coffee-growers.

ANOTHER BARTER PLAN BERLIN, March 22. The Government spokesman states that negotiations are proceeding on a scheme to barter German -coal for Argentine wheat. The German Government regards the proposal with the utmost friendliness, owing to its effect OH the currency situation.
