RETAINING NAME OF “ENGLAND’
TORONTO, Sept. 24. A protest against wiping the name “England” from the title of the church, or in any way threatening the bond between the Anglican Communion in Canada and the mother church in Great Britain, resulted in the overwhelming defeat at the General Synod assembly of the Church of England in Canada of a proposal to change the denomination’s official’ name to ‘‘Anglican Church in Canada.”
