THIS WEEK'S SHOW

FIRST DAY TO-MORROW FINE EFFORT ARRANGED if the weather remains kind, the Poverty Bay A. and F. Association should experience one of its most successful shows to-morrow and Wednesday. Entries are nearly up to the record, side shows are numerous and well up to the high standard of previous years, while improved grounds and facilities snould combine to provide a pleasant outing for the public. The second day lias come to be regarded as people’s day, but it has been noticed in recent years that the first day has been increasing in jropularitv. the horse events, which hold the greatest appeal to Show patrons, are particularly well entered for this year. Some of the bigger events are to be decided the first day. The maiden hack, which has attracted 40 entries, is the first on the list for saddle horses, 'and this is to commence at 10 a.in. Other attractions for to-morrow will be the ticketing of most of the cattle, all stud sheep, and crossbred hoggets, produce and cooking, dog trials and fleeces. The remainder of the classes r*a to bo judged on Wednesday. Trade exhibitors aiid skleshowmen were busy during the week-end erecting their tents, and by this afternoon nearly everything was in readiness. The weather forecast is not unfavorable, and provided the meteorologist’s calculations are not upset there should be nothing to prevent the fifty-second annual show being as successful as any in the past.
