PRIVATE YACHT'S CRUISE
THE PACIFIC CROSSED ’ (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. The American auxiliary yacht Vileehi, owned by Mr. Hiram T. Horton, of San Diego, arrived at Auckland after a voyage of 10 days from Suva. The vessel left her home port on June 20 and has since visited several Pacific Islands. A crew of five accompanies the owner, his wife and daughter. It is the intention of Mr. Horton to make Auckland his headquarters ’while lie visits places in New Zealand. Ho will stay here until the summer and then go to Australia and the East and then to Africa and Europe. The cruise is expected to end in two years.. Tho Vileehi is 80ft. long, with a boain of 19ft. and a draught of ll£ft. and is built strictly for service. The yacht makes no pretensions of being palatial; it is of the, usual American tourist'type.
