AMATEUR GOLF FINAL
THRILLS AT EVERY HOLE (Per Press Association.) CijRISTUHURGH, this day. There were thrills at every hole this morning at, Shirley in the final of the amateur golf championship between Wagg and Duncan. At the same time neilliel' player scored at his best, affected uy doubt by the strain of the occasion. Wagg was inclined to be oil' the lino with his long approaches, and lost strokes thereby. Duncan made many mistakes with his putter, and missed chances for halves and wins on the greens several times. 1 At oho time over 500 people were following the game,and the course marshals had a. busy time. Tlie course was still fast, though the approaches held better. The cards were.—Out: Wagg, 3,3, 4, 5,4, 5,4, 6, 3—total, 37./ Duncan: 4,4, 3,7, 4,5, 4,3, 4—total, 40. In: Wagg, .5, 4, 4. 3,5, 3,6, 5, 4~ total, 39. Duncan, 5,4, 4,5, 4,3, 6,4, 4—total 39. ■ In tho afternoon round, Wagg was still leading ono up at tho fourteenth, playing good golf.:
