The square base of :the pyramid, he pointed out, measured 13 acres, and it was built of blocks weighing up to 16 tons and fitted ftogether, with 011 b r a hair’s breadth of showing; the highest degree of workmanship. The pyramid was sheathed, with, polished white limestone which reflected the rays of the sun, but much of this sheathing Had been stripped and used, to build mosques in Egypt, ami Palestine. The various inferior, passages and chambers of the ,Structure were .described, and it was stated that in the central chamber, the King fs chamber, all that was discovered was ,an empty stone coffin. Important dates in Jewish history, such as the. crossing of the Red Sea, the Cruicifikion and the return 'of the Israelites from their wanderings. There were other dates significant to modern history aliso to he found in this remarkable creation, notably August 5, 1914,’ November 11, 1918, marking the duration of the Great War, and various date's,:of-treaties and events memorable, in international history. To a sceptic it seemed unbelievable that a pile of sfones should convey anything to mankind, but there it Was, and whether it was all a mere coincidence or the symbol of a preconceived plan he would not venture to say, though the whole subject enthralled and mystified one, and impressed one With the degree of intelligence manifested by the building of the pyramid. Upon the motion of Rotarian Foote a hearty vote of thanks was passed to .Mr. Strong. Rotarian Gilbert Bull presided at.the luncheon.
