Feather Frivolities
jLjATS, buttonholes, fans, and even shoes must have a touch of wing or feather somewhere, from the sweeping 1 astrich plume of the daring Amaz\ oiyau headgear t.o the tiny, soft down of a cluster of feather rosebuds for your shoulder knot. There are leather frivolities for all hours of the day, states the London Daily Express. There are quite a hundred different ways of showing that you are “feather-minded” —and be it said in passing that the present fashion is not the cruel one which r.obs ospreys of the mother bird and snares birds of paradise. Rather it is homely Chanticleer and Partlet who provide us with our jaunty little cockades—the pigeon who has fallen to our grosser appetite, the pheasant discarding his superfluous plumage. Sometimes under the brim of a small dark felt a feather will be seen curving forward on t,o the cheek like a soft curl, or a brightly colored feather. will peer over a sober, upturned brim. Pheasants’, feathers, brightlyvarnished and placed round the crown, are supplanting conservative bands of ribbon or velvet on the more severe models.
