SHOOK FOR T.U.C.
U.S. DELEGATE HATES DOLES LONDON. So.pt. 10 The trade unions are bidding for tlm support of all dolo recipients, and they received in chilly silence at the congress at Bristol the frank and timely advice of Mr. Noreschi, the fraternal delegate of the American Federation of Labor, who denounced tho dole system with relreshing candour. “In the long run,” he said, ‘‘it is neither an advantage to the worker nor a cure for his ills. The worker in America does not want doles, industry does not want to give doles, and public opinion generally is against the system of doles, or any of its substitutes. We believe that tho cure is not doles, but work.” Could any utterance have been more unexpected and unwelcome from a fraternal vsitor about to receive a gold watch and the thanks of congress for I)is message.
