When walking along the. shore of Lake Rotorua, in the vicinity of the main bath-house, Mr. W. Light, a patient at the Government sanatorium, stepped .on some ground which crumbled beneath ins feet, and one foot slipped into a. hole containing boiling water. Mr. Light was alone at the time, and although his - foot was severely sculded he was able to return to iho sanatorium unaided. Comparing economic conditions in Australia and New Zealand, Mr. F.
