When boring operations were in progress about n week ago, to test for 'foundations for a new bridge near the 21-mile peg on the Tnupo road, tho workmen found unusual thermal activity. The ground beiicalli the surface was, so hot that tho wrought iroif rods of the boring plant ware bent by the - heat. The surfaeo ground at the edge of tho stream, -only a few feet from the road, is intensely hot and even the shallow edges of tho stream itself are quite warm.
