New Zealand, it is hoped, will be represented at the second International Congress on Opcn-Air Schools, which is being held in Brussels this week. Sir Louis Barnett, emeritus professor of surgery in the University of New Zealand, expects to arrive in Europe in time to lie present at the closing sessions; and Mr. W. W. Rowntree. who lately retired from the headmastership of the Richmond School, Ohristchurch, and who is well-known to the teaching profession, will be present, and will read a paper on open-air schools in New Zealand. Both Sir Louis Barnett and Mr. Rowntree are official delegates of the Open-Air Schools' League of New Zealand, of which body Sir Louis is a. vicepresident. Mr. Rowntree is a member of the executive "of the Christchurcb branch. The Congress is being held under the auspices of the International Committee of Open-Air Schools, which was established in 1298, with headquarters in Paris. Tho president of the Oomrress is Dr. Amerieo Mola, of Montevideo, and delegates, official and orb-ate, are expected from many countries.
