GANGS IN CHICAGO
MURDERS AND ROBBERY ARMED GIRLS STEAL £SO CHICAGO, April 1. Two girls, one of whom was in possession of two revolvers, were responsible for a hold-up, which gained them £SO, at the end of last week, when 43 hold-ups • and two murders were recorded in Chicago. One gang held leisurely possession of a department store for eight hours, and stole £7OOO. At Detroit a man eonessed to having killed six members of one family. At Newark, a degenerate assaulted a voting married woman after drugging her lea. An older woman assisted him in the mine. When the victim recovered consciousness several hours later she staggered to a window and threw out a milk bottle, thus attracting the police, who broke into the place.
