POSTAL PROMOTIONS

MANY CHANGES MADE Consequent upon the retirement of several of the chief officers in the General Post Office, there haye been many changes made during the week in various parts of the Dominion. . „' ' Mr. S. M.' Harrison, chief postmaster at Dunedin, has been appointed to succeed Mr H. P. Donald at Auckland; Mr. F. W. Furby, senior officer in the General Post Office, has been appointed to succeed Mr. A. Shelton as chief postmaster at Palmerston North; Mr. D. M. Mcintosh, late of Mr, B. E. S. Brodie (retired), as chief postmaster at Napier, and Mr. W. W. Sutton, late postmaster at Hawera, becomes chief postmaster at Hastings; Mr. W. T. Johnson, chief postmaster at Invercargill, retires, and is being succeeded: by Mr. O. W. Wright, accountant to the Chief Post Office, Wellington; Mr. W. P. Aldridge, of Oamaruy becomes chief postmaster at Timaru, vice Mr. C. R. Ingram (retired), and Mr. G. COark, postmaster at Greymouth, becomes postmaster at Oamarm The latter's place at Greymouth has been taken by Mr. A. I. Slett, of Westport. Mr. I. I. McGregor, late postmaster at Gore, replaces Mr. J. J. Mulby as postmaster at Masterton; Mr. A. S. Warner, postmaster at Whakatane,'has been transferred to Feilding, ami Mr. J. S. Connell, late of Carterton, has been transferred to Dannevirke.
