THE REGENT
The attraction at the Regent is the stirring talking picture, “The Border Legion.” A splendid male cast portrays the story, headed by. those three favorites, Jack Holt, Richard Arlen, and Eugene Pallette, Fay Wray is the girl. Tile attraction is one that deals with the wide open country down by the Rib Grande. In the days that followed the American civil war a body of disbanded soldiers formed themselves into a gang of outlaws called the Border Legion. At their head as leader was a cool, far-sighted man, Jack Kells, played by Jack Holt. The Border Legion was a name to strike terror into the hearts of the bravest, for they knew no mercy and always repaid hostility with death. They were the rulers of the land in those lawless days. The story is founded on historical fact, and many of the episodes shown actually occurred. This picture is intense drama, but there are many good comedy scenes. A wellselected programme of featurettes supports the chief attraction.
MAJESTIC THEATRE
Who killed John Argyll:? This is the question asked in “The Argyle Case,” the attraction at the Majestic Theatre. Thomas Meighuh as the famous detective is set. an almost helpless task to discover the murderer. Every person in the house, oil the night, of file murder bail good cause to hate and fear the murdered man. Clues lead to everyone, but tho cold scientific mind of the detective refuses to be led by false scents. A baffling mystery confronts him. He becomes convinced that Argyle was killed by someone completely outside tho circle of suspects, and his first move; in this direction shows him that he has to fight a brain as keen as his own, and a personality that- is ruthless. It develops into u wonderful battle of wits, thereby supplying thrilling entertainment. Thomas Jueighan is supported by an excellent company headed by H. Bv Warner and Lila Lee. Sparkling featurettes anil Sound News are the supporting items.
