TASMAN FLYER
RECEPTION AT WELLINGTON (Per Prass Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Mr. Guy Menaies arrived at Rongotai aerodrome .'it 10.30 a.m. to-day and was tumultuously received by a largo crowd. lie flow his plane solo, .Mr. James travelling in one of the two accompanying planes, in charge of Flight-Lieutenant. .Mercer. The other was in charge of Flight-Lieutenant Barlow, who was accompanied by Mr. Norman Blakiston. Two local planes escorted tho flyers in, these being piloted by Messrs. F'. ,1. McDonald and 0. Waite. .Mr. Menzies was received bv the Mayor, Mr. G- A. Troup, the, Hon. J. G. Cobbo, and Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, president of the Wellington Aero Club. In regard to the Tasman flight, Mr. Menzies expressed the opinion that in 10 years everybody would be doing it, Mr. Guy Menzies, the Tasman aviufol'. arrived at Blenheim at 4.45 p.m. yesterday , su l,> in the Southern Cross Junior, escorted by two Christeliureh and two Blenheim Moths, and received a rousing welcome from a large crowd at the aerodrome, and an official welcome by the Mayor and Mr. A. A. Mac Nab, president of the -Marlborough Aero Club. Mr. Menzies was entertained at a dinner last evening.
